The Essential Oil Industry is unregulated which means there isn’t an entity or organization monitoring how essential oils are manufactured and sold. To top it off , there is no legal definition of “pure” which means that companies can legally claim their oils are pure even if they’re not. So this means that the only way you know your oils are pure is if you have testing. Doterra runs 54 different tests on their oils and releases the GCMS testing on every single bottle of essential oil that you purchase so that you know they’re truly pure. Sadly anyone out there can “sell” oils. But that doesn’t mean they’re offering education , resources, and mentorship. I speak to people daily who have been sold oils only to be left to figure out how to use them. This is a massive pet peeve of mine. Absolutely not. This is a massive misconception that many people have due to Doterra using Network Marketing Model. You will NEVER be asked to do the business. Only 10 percent of Doterra customers every pursue turning this into a business. Please rest assured this will never be brought to you. Did you know 80-90 percent of oils sold are adulterated? Doterra is set apart because they run 54 different tests on their oils and release what’s called GCMS testing on every single bottle. They seek out the highest quality of products by going to where these plants thrive naturally instead of cutting corners to grow in some greenhouse here in the US. Sadly people throw this term around a lot without know what it means. Firstly - pyramid schemes are illegal. Secondly - Doterra uses network marketing to advertise and sell their oils. What does this mean? It means that instead of spending money on tv, radio and billboard ads - they invest it into people like me who love their products and want to teach others how to use them. So you’re purchasing oils from an amazing brand and investing in someone’s small business instead of lining the pockets of Amazon or Walmart’s CEOs. Using essential oils can be overwhelming - so by doing it this way Doterra can help to ensure that people aren’t walking around with no education or even harmful information on oils.
