High-Protein Cottage Cheese Bagel Recipe
Getting enough protein can be a challenge, especially for busy women trying to balance work, family, and wellness. That’s why I’m always on the lookout for simple, high-protein recipes that are both nourishing and satisfying. Enter these protein-packed cottage cheese bagels—a game-changer for breakfast or snack time!
This recipe is inspired by a couple of variations I’ve seen floating around, but I tweaked it to my liking using some of my favorite brands. The result? Soft, chewy bagels with a boost of protein, thanks to cottage cheese! They’re easy to make, incredibly filling, and a great way to fuel your day.
Why Cottage Cheese?
Cottage cheese is an amazing high-protein ingredient that also adds moisture and tenderness to baked goods. It’s packed with:
✔ Protein: About 25g per cup, making these bagels a great post-workout or midday snack.

Simple & Nutritious Protein Bagels
Ingredients:
1 cup flour of choice (I used Sunrise Flour Milll)
1 + 1/4 cups cottage cheese (I used Good Culture)
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Everything bagel seasoning (or toppings of choice)
1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and knead into a dough.
Roll the dough into snakes, then form into bagel shapes.
Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning, and add extra salt if you like.
Bake for 28 minutes or until golden brown.
Ways to Enjoy These Bagels:
Toasted with butter & honey for a sweet-savory combo.
Topped with avocado & smoked salmon for an extra protein boost.
Made into a breakfast sandwich with eggs and turkey bacon.
